Mielle

Rosemary strengthening mask

“ My friend who also is a hair and make-up artist recently recommended this mask. I have not tried any products from Mielle yet but this thick mask enriched with rosemary and mint works wonders.. a best seller for a reason.

#TLC for my hair.”

October

Susanne Kaufmann

Enzyme Exfoliator

“ I currently bought 2 products to try from Susanne Kaufmann and this gentle exfoliator is one I can strongly recommend. While natural enzymes such as papaya and kiwi help to exfoliate, your skin is not left feeling dry or irritated. On top of that the lightweight gel texture adds a cooling factor.

#shelfie of the month.”

Briogeo

“ 2023 has been dedicated to more scalp care in order to achieve healthy hair. Charcoal and tea tree helps to clear dandruff, purifies your scalp from build up and excess oil. Peppermint will help to cool your scalp. Use it as a overnight treatment before you wash your hair.”

August

Elta MD

UV clear broadspektrum sunscreen

photo: thedermstore.com

“ Since we have been speaking about sunscreen intensively this month, I wanted to share another brand on my top shelf I finally got to try out. Elta MD has a tinted and clear version. Due to many questions for recommendations regarding acne- prone skin this mineral sunscreen is one for you! Niacinamide adds a soothing touch while lactic acids serves as a gentle exfoliator. Unfortunately, I have not found local online shop or store that carries this brand in Germany.. . I, however, attached an amazon link to the picture for you to check out.”

Brigeo

Don’t Despair, Repair Mask

photo: thedetoxmarket.com

“ Dear skin investors, this is another one for your top shelf! I promised we will talk more about hair this year and from the many masks I have tried in the last years this one is my top recommendation. I like the whole Don’t Despair, Repair! line because it leaves over-processed or just dry hair (causes could be the dry air in the winter or even the sun and dry heat of the summer) nourished and moist. I like to deep condition for at least 30 min with an additional hot towel.

Supergoop!

Unseen

“ I tell all my patients that SPF 30 is a must all day, all year around. While there are pro and cons wether one prefers mineral or chemical sunscreen, supergoop’s unseen was my first to try from that brand… it made it to the list! ”

April

Kosas

Revealer Concealer

“ This is the best concealer I have ever owned. My favorite thing about this creamy yet lightweight product is that it includes skincare! While ingredients as caffeine help to depuff and brighten, provitamin B5, peptides, and hyaluronic acid soothe and hydrate your delicate under-eye region. ”

February

Aquaphor

protect & repair salbe

“ You might notice dry lips, especially in the winter or when coming back from a beach vacation while others have chronic dry lips. I love keeping a little tube of Aquaphor in my purse since this ointment helps to lock in moisture. Try to use it as a mask at night by applying an extra thick layer. Btw I also love to recommend Aquaphor post-laser treatments to speed up wound healing.”

August

REN

Muslin cloths

“ Goodbye scratchy towels and wasting too many cotton pads. I am in love with these bleach-free muslin cloths. I use them 2-3 times and simply wash them in the machine. This gentle exfoliation will be a game changer in your routine. Whether you damp the towel and put it on your face to open your pores before cleansing or simply use it to take off your cleanser- so many ways to use them. ”

July

Balea Med

Ultra sensitive totes Meer Körperlotion

“ While being in the sun and heat we already talked so much about sunscreen but do you also feel like the sun dries your skin out? One of my dearest friends recently recommended me this fragrance-free hydrating lotion which we both love to mix with scented body oils. While I prefer thicker creams in the winter, I do like this lightweight lotion for the summer months.”

Medik8

C-Tetra

“ I came across this brand listening to a skincare podcast and my first purchase was this lightweight jojoba oil-infused vitamin C Serum. I like that you have good control over the dosage because of the pipette. Furthermore, it contains Vitamin E! I keep it in the fridge…. especially in the summer.”

“ I know when we talk about cleansing in the AM there are various opinions. For thoses who prefer to give their face a just a little Spritz: Rosewater kept in the fridge will do the job. Further benefits: Calming, antiseptic and hydrating.”

ILIA

Lip wrap hydrating mask

photo: https://www.niche-beauty.com

“ILIA is a brand I just recently became introduced too and I am not only a huge fan of their mascara but also of their lip mask. I use a thick layer before I go to bed and you literally wake up with hydrated plump soft lips.”

March

Dry Brushing

“Reasons why dry brushing is more than a trend: It stimulates your lymphatic system and blood circulation while leaving you with smoother and tighter skin. It is already my quick morning ritual before I jump into the shower. If you have sensitive skin use a mild brush and start with brushing your skin only 2-3x/week. Make sure to moisturize well after your shower or bath.”

Seabuckthorn BestSkinEver

‘‘This is an all-rounder: Oil cleanser and moisturizer. My friend and incredible aesthetician introduced me to this seabuckthorn cleanser moisturizer and told me to use it for 20 days and nothing else in order to restore and balance out my skin…. and it worked! Also the smell is fantastic and gives you this mini-spa moment at home. I still use it regularly to wind down and give myself a lymphatic drainage.”

November

Neocell

Super Collagen 1&3

photo: www.amazon.de

‘‘ I always had a doubt about the quality of the ingredients and where to get good supplements from. Collagen powder is something I was recently looking for since it benefits your joint, skin and hair. Notice: There are many different types of collagen! I put this powder in my coffee (almost) every morning, it dissolves great and is unflavored. Sidenote: You are already getting in 6 g of Protein in the morning!”

Pai Skincare

Roseship oil

photo: www.zalando.de

‘‘ Summer is officially over! I have combination skin and was always sceptical using face oils. Sometimes towards fall/winter I tend to get dry patches especially after I exfoliate. This oil by PAI was the first I used at night a couple of years ago and I was surprised how hydrated and nourished my skin felt the next day. I am sure this is one of the oils that will save your dry winter skin !”

September

Tata Harper

Resurfacing Mask

photo: www.niche-beauty.com

‘‘ We have not talked about facials recently. I am sure most of us have created a great spa routine during this pandemic. I came across this luxurious smelling face mask. It jelly texture has a cooling effect while their flower scent promotes wellness vibes. Just light a candle et voilà! Tata Harper is known for their great choice of ingredient.”

August

Cetaphil

tinted sunscreen 50 SPF+

photo: www.shop-apotheke.com/beauty

‘‘A summer cannot go by without telling you about my favorite sunscreen! I used this tined one for almost a year now…and it might look to light at first but it complimentes to your skin tone. Since I also taught you about the negative effects of blue light… tinted moisturizers or sunscreen got your back. ”

July

Cetaphil

ItchControl Bodywash

photo: www.cetaphil.de

‘‘My current listed bodywash leaves thirsty skin after all the heat and sunbathing less dry while providing it with moisture. Especially since dry brushing is a thing now I prefer a creamy cleanser to soothe my rather dry and sensitive skin. Eczema ? Try this ! ”

June

La Roche-Posay

Effaclar micro-exfoliante

photo: www.larocheposay.de

‘‘Exfoliation is necessary! Dead skin cells need to come off your skin and the glow is on. This lotion can be used as a great toner in the am and pm after you cleansed. It is also great for acne prone skin while being a gentle exfoliator… which makes it great for daily usage. I first came across La Roche -Posay when I was a teenager and suffering from break-outs. Iam still a big fan of a lot of their products. ”

May

Drunk Elephant

Vitamin C Serum

photo: Drunkelephant.com

‘‘Hello dear skininvestors! We look what’s inside a product. This is a AM serum which includes the active formulation of vitamin C: l-ascorbic acid. I keep mine in the fridge for an extra cooling effect in the morning while it also needs to be stored at a cool and dry place . One thing I must say is the the texture is rather thick and I find it more applicable once I blend 1-2 drops between my palms. ”

April

Paula’s Choice

Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant

photo: Glowskincosmetics.com

‘‘I think PC is a great brand overall but this peeling made it to my top shelf (I already rebought it twice and happily recommended it to several friends). The light texture gets absorbed quickly by your skin and using it 2-3/week at night serves as a great gentle exfoliant. Salicylic acid (BHA) is also safe in darker skin tones while 2% is an effective dosis.
